Reception Bunker with Push Floor Discharge & Storage Silo with Sliding Frame Discharger

Saxlund were chosen by Anglian Water to design, manufacture, and install a dewatered sludge cake truck reception bunker and process storage silo for the Whitlingham WRC

The rectangular reception bunker is fitted with a hydraulically actuated lid to ensure minimal odour discharge into the environment. The bunker is fitted with a canopy that adjoins the truck reception building, where the trucks reverse to position the tipping trailer to deliver cake into the bunker. 

Th bunker is discharged by the reciprocating action of the Saxlund Push Floor which promotes mass flow into the two progressive cavity pumps mounted directly to the bunker floor. The pumps feed the cake into the process storage silo. 

The process storage silo is discharged by the Sliding Frame which is fitted onto the baseplate of the flat bottomed silo. The Saxlund Sliding Frame reciprocates across the silo floor promoting mass flow and discharges the sludge cake into two progressive cavity pumps mounted directly to the silo floor. The pumps feed the cake into the THP digestion process.
